which is monitored by emergency crews. For now, it works on the Digiciel is not yet operational on Voila.

If you are in Haiti and want to save the number of qq1 else send a text message with REGISTER or REGISTER and number of the person and his location has 4636

If you are Abroad: send an SMS or REGISTER REGISTER, the local number of the person in Haiti and its location is +4673 749 4535

Attention code SMS is dependent on local infrastructure, if it does not work the SMS will not pass.

A new emergency service just became available via Digicel.   Please pass this info on to anyone you've got on the ground:  


- If inside Haiti: text your location to 4636 directly from your own phone
It will upload directly to  http://haiti.ushahidi.com/ , which is being monitored by first responders. 
This will currently ONLY work on the Digicel network--it's not up for Voila yet.
- If inside Haiti and registering someone else's phone number: send a text with REGISTER or REGISTRE and the loved ones' number and location, to 4636
- If overseas: text REGISTER or REGISTRE and the loved ones' local Haiti number, and location to +4673 749 4535
- Note: The SMS shortcode is dependent on local telecom infrastructure; if the infrastructure fails, the local SMS service will not work
